" Mariah VS Justin " When you’re as successful as the Biebster you can afford to be picky, right? But dissing Mariah Carey is NOT something you want to do, Justin! Justin Bieber’s got game – there’s no denying it. But has fame gone to the 16-year-old tween sensation’s head? He’s definitely picking a battle with the wrong person – none other than la diva herself – Ms. Mariah Carey ! Although the young singer will be collaborating with British chanteuse Corinne Bailey Rae , he knocks any chance of working with Mariah, 39. “I don’t love her new music, it’s not the same [as her old stuff],” the Canadian singer told UK paper The Sun . “It’s like Michael Jordan coming back out to play in the NBA. She is past her best.” While praising Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and BeyoncĂ©, he didn't mince words when it came to Mimi. "I don't love her new music, it's not the same," he said. Ouch, Justin! Alison Alison Carey is Mariah's older sister. A year after Morgan was born, Patricia Hickey gave birth to a second child, a girl named Alison (sometimes sources say incorrectly Allison). Alison got married at an early age and gave birth to her first child (Shawn) when she was only 18. Ten years later, she gave birth to her other child, Michael. Mariah and Shawn at Robert Kennedy Jr. III's birthday party in 2006 Shawn grew up with his father Richard. His parents divorced when he was only two. Mariah and Shawn are very close. Mariah actually gave him some financial support for his studies. Shawn is very attached to Mariah because she taught him that he could do whatever he wanted in life, provided that he had faith in it. Shawn played in his college football team, and he owns two apartments, one in Boston and an other in New York. Shawn can also be seen in the "Can't take that away (Mariah's theme)" video. I can't believe I'm standing here," Carey told the crowd of about 3000 executives and VIPs for Etisalat's 3rd Anniversary celebration on Monday. "I mean you guys you're maybe used to it, but us... Posted by Raiff on Saturday, 29-May-2010, 12:11PM EDT The Charmbracelet Tour was Mariah's longest and most comprehensive world tour to date, and after five months on the road, she still wasn't done yet. Although she had no current single and her album (released over a year ago) had fallen off the charts, Mariah continued to be seen and heard throughout 2004. In February, Mariah flew to Guadalajara, Mexico to perform before a crowd of 25,000 at The Extravaganza Convention, a private event for employees of the Omnilife Group. The performance was a condensed version of the tour show, and included songs such as "Heartbreaker," "Without You" and "I Know What You Want." Later on the month, Mariah travelled to Asia. Her first stop was to Singapore, where she was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Asia Awards. Posted by Raiff on Friday, 28-May-2010, 12:01PM EDT Although sales of Mariah's latest album Charmbracelet were dismal on their own, they pushed her overall album and single sales to a new record. In January 2003, Mariah was honored by the Recording Industry of America with a plaque that read "Presented to Mariah Carey to commemorate more than 100 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum certifications over the course of your extraordinary career. Congratulations from the Recording Industry Association of America." After a three year absence, Mariah returned to the stage of the American Music Awards in January. Though she did not win any awards that night, she would share a very special moment with the world. She was there to pay tribute to a very special man in her life - her father. With the support of four backing singers and a choir, Mariah performed "Through The Rain," as photos of her throughout her life flashed on a giant screen behind her.
